For the Language class, with our teacher Andrea Schejter, we were assigned the creation of a graphic novel, in groups. This was after watching the first episodes of the tv series "How To Get Away With Murder", from which we had to select a scene of our choice and represent it in the graphic novel. My group chose one from the Pilot episode, where they find a corpse in their Professor´s office and they have no idea of what to to remain innocent for the eyes of the justice, since someone could have seen them enter or something.

Science classes at secondary school.
On the Language class, after doing activities surrounding connectors, dependent prepositions, phrases to express opinion, among others, we were given a statement that claimed "Students should be allowed to give up science lessons at school. When they are fourteen, if they don´t like them". Using all the content learnt that I´ve previously mentioned, we had to write a text saying if we agreed or not with the statement, supporting your ideas with reasons.
Here I leave some references:
Phrases to express opinions.
Dependent prepositions.
Science-related words.
Connectors of contrast.
The opinions surrounding chemestry classes at school are diverse, due to the fact that is a subject that tends to be found complex by many students and many object to take it, in comparison to other subjects.
I firmly disagree with this statement. From my point of view, students should take chemestry classes until they graduate from secondary school. Therefore, they will have at least the experience and knowledge level required at universities. They will know how to deal with telescopes, thermometers, calculators, among other elements. Consequently, if you decide to follow any career hugely related to chemestry, such as the ones for being an astronomer, a physicist or chemist, you would really benefit from this. Furthermore, they will all develop their IQ, general knowledge and clearly open their minds.
However, if you are not planning to opt for any of these careers, I agree up to a certain point with the idea of it being not so useful. What´s more, if you struggle and find the subject complex and not always pass, I can understand it can be a pain. Anyway, in spite of your unlikeness, I personally believe you should still take it. Although you may not end up or plan to opt for any career related to chemestry or any university career at all, if you choose to have kids, eventually you may need to help them with their homework or something.
In conclusion, even though you dislike chemestry and won´t need much of the content learnt on the future and now feel like it is a "waste" of time on something you don´t enjoy and perhaps, if you don´t follow a career related to chemestry, a bit useless, you should still take chemestry classes at secondary school. Besides, if you are actually going to opt for a career related to this, you´d definitely take advantage of this.

Interviewing an overcomer.
In the Language class, the teacher told us to create a dialogue between a reporter and a famous personality. We must include and underline phrases of¨:
- As she (the interviewer) said, I´m going to talk with you about alcohol and smoking. Let´s start!
- What´re your feelings towards the tons of people dying everyday because of the smoking of cigarettes?
- The companies that produce this truly disgust me. But personally, I think that the people who got this worse are the ones from third world, cause there´s less state promotion from the state about the pesimist risks people take at smoking cigarettes.
- Good. In addition, what´s your opinion on that, I mean the third world countries´ government very little support to the people?
- I guess they put money before people´s health and well-being. No words can describe how horrible that is.
- Truly sad, what a pitty. We know the teenagers are the most keen in smoking. what are your views on it?
- In my opinion, the government should promote since a young age that smoking is extremely risky. From personal experience, keep calm I know about it.
- Since you overcame this addiction, what´re your thougts on the kind of people that tend to smoke?
- As I see it. those are the ones that have serious problems at house, and don´t have their parents support.
- How do you feel about the parents that drink lots to avoid suffering in front of their sons and give them a wrong message of that being normal?
- Eh, that´s a really difficult question, but I believe that the government should intervene in the situation. From my point of view, teachers at school should teach children since a young age that drinking to avoid reality is wrong. So we battle with the not correct paternal image.
- Finally, as you´ve passed through both, what´s your opinion about the amount of risk on them? Which is risker? Alcoholism or smoking?
- I believe both are wrong. I wouldn`t recommend any of them. But it obviously depends on the amount you drink/smoke. At short time, alcohol is risker, while at long term, smoking is more dangerous.
- What do you think about alcohol being legal at certain age? I mean, generally in the world at 18 years old.
- It´s not healthy, but it´s a sensible measure, since it´s "supposed" that at that age, also known as being an adult, you can think by yourself and take decisions on your own, about what´s good for you and what´s not. As I said before, people in third world are less conscious of this, so there should be more state pressure.
- Thanks from part of the team and the public, Thomas. Hope we get to have you soon here again!
